Meet Carroll Campbell

Carroll A. Campbell, III is a small businessman, public policy authority, and civic volunteer who has served the people of South Carolina on multiple community, economic development and medical boards.
Mr. Campbell is Chairman of Carroll Campbell and Associates - a strategic consultation, business management, communications and public relations firm providing services for companies that create jobs in South Carolina.
Prior to Chairing the firm, Mr. Campbell worked with some of South Carolina’s leading companies where he was responsible for directing governmental and business development for the SCANA Corporation, Computer Science Corporation, Data Treasury Corporation, and Policy Management Systems.
As a small businessman, Mr. Campbell was involved in multiple small businesses including those in the hospitality, recreation, and infrastructure industries. This included his ownership of a number of Wendy's restaurants, where he created jobs for the community and employed over 500 people.
Working to create economic growth in South Carolina, Mr. Campbell served as Treasurer and Secretary of the South Carolina State Ports Authority's Board of Directors.
He has been a Member of the South Carolina Economic Development Association, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100, and the Central Midlands Council of Governments' Planning Committee.
Mr. Campbell is committed to excellence in education and served as a past member of the University of South Carolina’s Board of Visitors and the Newberry College Board of Trustees, from which he received his undergraduate college degree in Business Administration.
With an interest in Health Care, Mr. Campbell currently serves on the Board of Directors of Biowatch and was a past member of the Board of Directors for the Richland Memorial Hospital Center for Cancer Treatment.
Mr. Campbell is an outdoorsman. He is a past Board Member for Ducks Unlimited. He is an avid hunter, NRA member, and saltwater fisherman. He is a supporter of the Charleston Deep Reef Project and a promoter of the South Carolina Memorial Reef.
He has also been a volunteer for the United Way of the Midlands and the Children's Home in addition to serving on the Executive Committee for the Republican Committee of the Spring Valley Precinct.
He is the son of former Republican South Carolina Governor and Congressman Carroll A. Campbell, Jr. who "taught him many lessons, one of which is that the private sector can do many things better and more efficiently than government." It was his Mom, Iris Campbell - the former First Lady of South Carolina - who with the encouragement of his father gave Mr. Campbell the childhood nickname "Tumpy", a nickname that has stayed with him to this day.
Following his father's untimely death from Alzheimer's disease, Mr. Campbell became a leader in the fight for a cure, serving as Past Chairman of the Palmetto Alzheimer's Association Board of Directors and speaking out for a cure at a national event on the front steps of the Lincoln Memorial in our nation's Capital.
Mr. Campbell is the father of two daughters. He is engaged to be married to Tracey Amick of Charleston, SC.
